Kyle Hurst and Tyrell Sellars-Fleming scored the goals that secured Scunthorpe United a 2-0 away win at Sutton United on Saturday. The result ended Sutton's three-game losing run in the National League and gave Scunthorpe a second consecutive victory.
Hurst opened the scoring in the 39th minute with his first goal since joining the club, finishing an assist from Ben Horton. Hull City loanee Tyrell Sellars-Fleming then doubled the advantage in the 69th minute, converting a pass from Danny Whitehall to seal the three points.
The win moves Scunthorpe up to 18th place in the National League table, with seven points from their opening seven matches. Their recent form reads three wins and two losses from the last five, a sequence of results that includes victories over Solihull Moors and Nottingham Forest's under-21 side.
Manager Jimmy Dean will be encouraged by a second clean sheet in three games, a marked improvement after conceding four at Carlisle just two weeks ago. The team now has a full week to prepare for their next league fixture, a home match against Dagenham & Redbridge on September 19th.
