Scunthorpe's Enterprise National League match against Eastleigh was abandoned after a serious injury to Eastleigh defender Archie Harris in added time. The game was level at 1-1 after Eastleigh had equalised in the first minute of stoppage time. Scunthorpe defender Jean Belehouan was involved in the collision with Harris. Andy Butler, Scunthorpe manager, said Belehouan was responding well to testing. Harris was taken to hospital and was conscious and talking. The incident occurred in the seventh minute of added time. Belehouan sat up before being transferred to a wheelchair and taken from the field of play. Scunthorpe later confirmed Belehouan had returned to the dressing room. Eastleigh confirmed Harris had been admitted to hospital. The club will provide further updates to supporters in due course. Wales Under-21 international Harris had twice been an unused substitute for Bournemouth in Premier League match squads last season. Scunthorpe manager Andy Butler told the club's YouTube channel that Belehouan was a bit numb down one side of his face. Butler thought it was a bit of a reckless challenge. He wished Harris all the best. The match was abandoned after the incident. The referee told the rest of the players to go to the changing rooms. The game will not be replayed. Scunthorpe will focus on their next match.
