Carlisle United Football Club and Carlisle United Community Sports Trust have organised a foodbank collection ahead of their National League fixture against Scunthorpe United. The collection takes place between 12:00pm and 2:30pm in the Northern Competitions Fan Zone, situated beside the EDI Gazebo. The initiative runs ahead of National Foodbank Awareness Day and requests donations of essential items to support Carlisle Foodbank. Requested donations include UHT Semi Skimmed Milk, tins of meat, tins of potatoes or instant mash, tinned tomatoes, Pot Noodles, microwaveable rice, jam, chocolate treats, tins of custard, tinned fruit, tins of rice pudding, shower gel, shampoo, and deodorant. The foodbank drive forms part of the club's community outreach ahead of the away trip to Scunthorpe United, who currently sit 16th in the National League table with four points from four games. Carlisle themselves occupy 16th position in the National League this season, having scored six goals and conceded six for a goal difference of zero, placing them eight points behind leaders Sutton United. The collection point will be operational this Tuesday, offering supporters and staff the opportunity to donate before the fixture.
